Who we are

St John's exists to faithfully preach the Word about Christ and administer His Sacraments for the salvation of everyone who believes.

Our church has been a pillar of the Lomira community since 1863. Today we continue to proclaim God's unchanging truth of full and free salvation from Christ to a new generation.

For more information, check out our church page here.

St John's is a Lutheran liturgical church. This means that we worship liturgically. We follow the pattern and basic elements of God’s service to sinners born out of 2000 years of the Christian Church’s experience, including some elements a thousand years older than that. The entire liturgy is built around proclaiming Christ and the way He won salvation for us (the source of true life). Yet this does not mean that we do the same thing the same way every Sunday. In this liturgical format we are unafraid to use modern styles and fresh variation. Whatever we do always aims to use God’s rich gifts, giving Him our best.
