Jesus said, let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these. Matthew 19:14.
In this Bible passage, Jesus is rebuking his disciples because they did not think it was important for little children to hear God’s word. Many times Jesus speaks of his deep love for children and the importance of them hearing the word of God. That’s exactly what we do here in Sunday school, tell the children about their risen Savior!
We have about 50 students from kindergarten through 8th grade. The students sing in church and participate in the Children’s Christmas Service. Each Sunday we meet from 9:00 - 9:50 am to learn Bible stories, recite memory work and complete worksheets. This year we dedicated one Sunday to focus on the Reformation of our church, and taught the children about Martin Luther.
What a blessing it is to be able to share the good news of our Lord with these children!
