Fun Day 2010

At the beginning of the school year the children were given a goal of 7000 AR points to be reached by the end of the year.  They surpassed that goal by March!  The children were rewarded with a "Fun Day".  They played games, watched a movie, had a pizza lunch and played an all-school kickball game.  Way to go St. John's!

2008 Jump Rope and Hoops for Heart

On November 26, 2008 St. John's held Jump Rope and Hoops for Heart to raise money for the American Heart Association.  We raised over $4600.00!  These pictures were taken during Jump Rope for Heart, held in the morning for grades 4K-4 and during Hoops for Heart, held in the afternoon for grades 5-8.  The last photos were taken a few weeks later.  Each classrooms top money raiser was given a limo ride to Subway for lunch!  And because we reached and surpassed our goal, Mr. Vilski and Pastor Schmidt agreed to have their hair dyed!  Way to go, St. John's!

Christian Education Week 2009

Christian Education Week was very busy!  We began each day with chapel.
On Monday, some students dressed up as their favorite person from the Bible and we had to guess who they were!  It was also the beginning of the Scholastic Book Fair and our own version of a food fight!  We collected over 800 cans, bottles, and boxes of food and juice that benefited the Lomira Food Pantry.  Way to go, St. John's!  We also finished our bodies.  We are showing how we've grown physically and in God's Word.
On Tuesday we made Bible book marks to send to the mission in Brazil.
Wednesday was "Bring a Special Friend Day".  Friends came and spent the morning in class and stayed for lunch.
On Thursday we traveled to St. Paul's in Brownsville. We watched a presentation "Getting Excited About Science", participated in a Quiz Bowl and had a snack.  Thank you, St. Paul's for your hospitality.
We were able to return the favor to St. Paul's on Friday when they joined us for chapel.  The WLA Academy Kids sang a few songs for us during chapel and then entertained us with a few more songs following chapel.
We ended our week by singing in church on Sunday and attending the 4K-5K Brazil presentation where the children sang songs and danced for us.  The highlight of the day was when the children sang "Jesus Loves Me" in Portuguese.
